Easter Sunday for us started out with church and then Sunday School. In years past, we've done a family-style Sunday School. It is a nice way to celebrate Easter as a family. Seth and I were one of the couples to lead one of the three groups (we were divided alphabetically . . . we had the V's).
The lesson had three parts. First we read the Bible passage about Jesus' grave clothes. Then we wrapped one child in toilet paper! They had fun with that.
The next Bible verses we read were about the rock in front of the tomb. Everyone was able to bring home a nice sized rock to remember that part of the story.
Third, we had candles that we lit to remind us that Jesus is the light of the world. Then we blew them out to symbolize Jesus on the cross. BUT they were trick candles and the light came back . . . just like Jesus rising from the grave.
It was a neat lesson and we managed not to ruin any Easter outfits with glue or fire!
A quick photo at church.
An Easter visit and photo with Great-Grandma!
Paul took some photos of the entire family before lunch. This has become a tradition.
And one of our family. I made the girls' dresses for Easter last year and they still fit this year so they're wearing them again.
Checking in on the cows. We still have three waiting to have their calves. I guess you could say that this is the maternity ward.
On the 4-wheeler to check out the beaver work.
Oh, look at that beaver. It is one-of-a-kind!
And this one too! They sure can do a lot of damage.
How many Dutchman does it take to stand on the bank and watch the water flow? Actually, they're looking at where the beaver have been working and scouting a new place for the trail camera to hopefully catch the beaver in action!
Later, back at the home place . . .
Eliza and Emmet in their favorite spot . . . on the bales watching the cows.
Lastly, we had 5 baby kittens born on Easter!
"The angel said to the women, 'Do not be afraid, for I know that you are looking for Jesus, who was crucified. He is not here; he has risen, just as he said. Come and see the place where he lay. Then go quickly and tell his disciples: He has risen from the dead and is going ahead of you' . . . " Matthew 28: 5-7
